I is for Isis

Most-Wanted Monsters is thrilled to be one of more than 1500 blogs taking part in the 2012 A -Z Blogging Challenge - 26 opportunities to help you survive a paranormal apocalypse. Don't let our epic monster limericks fool you - the lore we share about the beasties featured in each daily post could literally save your life. Know them before they GET you!
Isis
The Goddess Isis considered powerful and brave
Travelled Egypt for her husband's soul to save
But she used her magic
For something quite tragic
And resurrected Osiris from his grave
You know what they say, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Or perhaps...in mourn?

Once considered the Patron Saint of Nature and Magic, and protector of the dead, Isis went a little...crazy...when her husband was murdered. But who could blame her? Pieces of him were scattered all across Egypt.

That's when the Goddess who once befriended slaves, sinners and artisans used her magical powers for something a little less noble. She brought her husband back from the dead! Now that's true love.

SURVIVAL TIP: A chance run-in with the Goddess is slim - unless of course you're keen to off her undead husband's head. We'd suggest staying clear of them altogether.

More frightened of an imp than an Isis? Tell us in the comments below and you could win an e-copy of SPIRITED, an anthology of 13 haunting stories.

And then, why not head over to some of the other blogs on the A-Z Blogging Challenge.
